How to meet new people

There is something to be said for being an outgoing person. I always manage to meet up with new and interesting people even while standing in line. Take for instance the last cruise that I took. While waiting patiently for U.S. Customs to check everyone ahead of us into the ship, I struck up a conversation with the couple standing in front of us. Now this really wasn't a stretch to start talking to them. Afterall, they were getting on the same ship as us. So I figured they were ready to relax and get on with their vacation just like us. Well turns out that their table in the main dining room was directly across from ours. We kept bumping into them throughout the cruise. So we had made, at least temporarily, new friends. They were from the opposite coast of Florida from us. They were interesting and funny. And they seemed to be genuinely nice people. This new found friendship made the trip that much nicer.
Try it sometime. Go up to a stranger or turn to your neighbor in line and strike up a conversation. You never know what kind of interesting/funny/odd conversation you may have!
