Home maintenance while on vacation

Not many people think about their homes before they leave town except to make sure the house is locked up tight. In addition to the doors, don't forget to check the windows, too. But that really wasn't the focus of this blog today. I wanted to remind everyone to unplug their appliances except, of course, the refrigerator. All the TVs can be unplugged, if you aren't recording something, that is. Your computer, if you aren't taking it with you, should be unplugged, too. The coffee maker won't be making coffee for the time that you are gone, so unplug it. These appliances do not need to run while you are away. By unplugging them you can save some electricity which, of course, translates into money saved. Cool, huh?
