Fire at Sea continued.....
Yesterday I wrote about the great job that the Resolve Maritime Academy was doing preparing the cruise ship personnel and firefighters for a fire on board a cruise ship. Today I want to talk about the possible culprits in starting a fire on board a cruise ship - YOU! Smokers are the number one hazard on a cruise ship for causing a fire with people burning candles in their cabins running a close second. Think about it. Smokers can flick their cigarettes or cigars over the side with it only to come back on board to start a fire. Or hey can fall asleep in bed starting fire. Candles are prohibited for that reason, too. Now there are flame less candles that are available. So if you feel the need to have a romantic night in your cabin, bring a flame less candle. We will all sleep better.
