Unpredictable weather

OK. How many vacations have been ruined or at least changed due to the weather? I would bet a good deal of them have. While on a cruise, it is very easy for the ship to sail around bad weather. But if you are traveling on land, that option may not be available. If you are visiting relatives or friends, you don't want to simply get in the car an drive away because the weather is bad. (OK - So maybe there are SOME relatives that we would be very happy to do that to!) But on the whole, where ever you are, you are stuck with the  weather conditions. Just like I keep a spare pair of binoculars in my luggage, I keep a cheap rain poncho in the luggage,too. It has come in handy only a few times but boy was I glad to have them. I know that everyone thinks that their vacation will go smoothly but....
